CK Tan – President
CK is a 25+ years veteran of the semiconductor industry. He started his semicon career with AMD Singapore and then moved on to various Operations / Engineering / Outsourced / Factory Management / Supply Chain / Procurement / Quality / Business role(s) with Cyrix, ST Assembly, SiLabs and UTAC. CK has extensive experience in OSAT business.

CK is currently involved in advisory activities in all aspects of business, supply-chain, startup, procurement & operational improvement/re-engineering. He has extend his experience/know-how to help local SMEs in the last 2 years.

CK holds a BSc (Eng) Hons in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University of London.

Mike Holt – Vice-President
Mike Holt helps senior executives in technology companies improve results. Mike focuses on technology companies doing business in or from Asia.

Mike has excelled at developing new businesses and improving the performance of existing businesses by working with CEOs as an advisor and “hands-on” executor.

Mike is a “hands-on” senior executive, proven leader of high growth companies and an experienced CEO. Mike’s recent experiences includes leading as CEO, two consumer electronics fabless semiconductor companies where his achievements include raising $40 million in venture capital and leading from start up to profitability and exit.

Mike’s experience spans multiple disciplines including: marketing, product development, operations and mergers/acquisitions in both entrepreneurial and senior management positions. Prior to leadership roles in venture-backed technology companies, Mike spent 15 years at Texas Instruments/Silicon Systems which include leading a business from start up to greater than $100M in sales.

Mike holds BSEE, MSEE and MBA degrees from the University of California, Irvine.

Dr Lai Weng Hong – Secretary
Dr Lai Weng Hong has close to 20 years of engineering and business management experience in both front and back end semiconductor design, manufacturing, testing and failure analysis. He is Director at Test Incorporated Asia Pte Ltd, which specializes in the provision of best-in-class one-stop semiconductor-related services and solutions to both local and international clientele. He also serves on SPRING Singapore Electrical and Electronic Standards Committee as Co-Convenor of Working Group for Semiconductor Devices, which mirrors the IEC TC47 workgroup, and Members of Technical Committee 1 (Electrical & Electronic Products), IEC TC94 (All or nothing electrical relays) mirror workgroup, and Expert Group on Smart Manufacturing. Prior to taking up his current roles, he served in Globalfoundries and A*STAR. He is a graduate of the National University of Singapore (NUS) with B. Eng. (Hons) and PhD in Electrical Engineering with major in Microelectronics.
Meenu Sarin – Assistant Secretary
Meenu is currently the Program consultant at Science and Engineering Research Centre, A*STAR and Director of VLSI Consultancy. She provides techno-commercial services in the semiconductor eco-system across 3 main facets – Talent Development, Strategic planning and Technology/Product roadmap planning, and Program Management & Solution Consulting.

She is one of the founding member and Hon. Assistant Secretary SSIA.

Her past initiatives under SSIA include: Singapore Semiconductor Vision 2020’s Public-Private-Partnership, Mentorship program for engaging students to be a part of the semiconductor industry, Overseas Industry delegations besides speaking, sessions’ chairing, panelist, moderator for panel discussions engagements in various Thought Leadership Forums.

Meenu has over 25 years in the semiconductor industry spanning across various facets of operations & across geographies like Europe, India, Singapore, Greater China and Australia.

Sunil Agarwal – Treasurer
Sunil is a Tax Partner with the International Tax Advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore. Sunil has over 18 years of experience in international tax, transfer pricing and tax consulting services. Sunil leads the Technology, Infocomm, Media and Entertainment practice of the tax division.

Sunil specialises in tax restructuring and has assisted various multinationals in optimizing their taxes across the Asia Pacific region. Some of his key experience includes advising companies on restructuring of their business operations to achieve optimal tax position, assisting clients in establishing tax-efficient structures, advising clients in exploring transfer pricing planning opportunities & advising multinationals on various cross border tax issues.

Sunil has closely worked with several multinationals to optimize their holding structures, financing structures and contracting structures to achieve a reduction in their overall effective tax rate.

Sunil has worked extensively with the Economic Development Board (“EDB”) of Singapore and International Enterprise Singapore (“IE”) and assisted several clients to negotiate a favourable tax incentive from the EDB and IE.

Sunil is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Costs & Works Accountants of India. Sunil is a regular speaker at various international tax seminars.

Dr Lee Teck Kheng – Assistant Treasurer
Dr Lee Teck Kheng received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and the M.S. degree in materials science and engineering from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and 1999, respectively and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Nanyang Technology University, Singapore, in 2006. He had been with the semiconductor packaging industry for eighteen years, working from the historical package of DIP to flip-chip packages, WLCsp and system-in-package. He joined the Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Singapore, in 1997, researching in the areas of MEMS, CSP, and flip-chip packaging. In 1999, he joined Micron Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd as a Senior Technical Member, responsible for substrate supplier management and leading some research programs in the field of advanced packaging and material characterization. He is currently the director of Technology Development Centre (TDC) for ITE College Central, leading a team of engineers and researchers to support the local industry development in Semiconductor, Automation, ICT and electronics sector. Under the leadership, the TDC centre have secured more than 15 grants worth S$4.6M. He has authored and co-authored more than 60 papers in journal and international conferences. Currently, he holds 64 U.S patents, pending another 20 U.S patents from issuing. He has served as a Technical committee member for Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCCI), Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) and Institute of Engineering, Singapore (IES). He is also listed as Who’s Who in the World 2007, 2013-2015 as well as listee of IBC Leading Engineers of the World in 2013-2015. Currently, he acts as co-convenor to represent Singapore in reviewing IEC standard for Semiconductor and IC packaging.
Jerome Tjia – Executive Committee Member
Mr. Jerome Tjia has been working in the semiconductor and electronics industries for over 25 years. Jerome began his career as a research engineer in Australia in 1987 and garnered extensive experience in IC design at Silicon Systems Singapore, earning the title of Principal Engineer. He progressed to hold many R&D management position in Philips/NXP Semiconductors and ST-Ericsson: Director of IC Design, Director of Program Management and Director of Development.

Jerome is the Senior Director and Head of Development Centre of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific since 2011 where he leads the team in developing Automotive Microcontroller and Power Management solution. He is also the chair of Innovation Council that fosters innovation culture, technical ladder and project management.

Jerome has been an Executive Committee Member of Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association since 2009.

Jerome Tjia holds a Master degree from National University of Singapore and graduated with First Class Honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He holds 10 US patents and speaks English, Chinese Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia.

Kwok Lih – Executive Committee Member
Kwok Lih is currently an advisor to the executive office in Mediatek. Concurrently, he serves as a business advisor for SPRING Singapore and SUTD-JTC I3 research centre. Prior to that, he was leading R&D operations in both Intel and Infineon Technologies for more than 10 years. He started his engineering career with Motorolo as a technical staff where he spent 10 years in R&D.

Kwok Lih holds an MBA and MSEE from the National University of Singapore. He obtained a BSEE from Texas A&M University. He has also completed advanced management courses from MIT Sloan school of management and also Singapore Management University.

Lee Soon Kiat – Executive Committee Member
Mr. Lee Soon Kiat, is currently the Director of Government Relations at GLOBALFOUNDRIES.

He has over 25 years of working experience in both the government and private sector. In the government sector, he has served as a Divisional Director in the International Enterprise (formerly Trade & Development Board) and Assistant Head (Electronics) in the Economic Development Board under the Singapore Government. His responsibilities included promotion of foreign direct investment into Singapore, creating and facilitating business collaboration and development between local and foreign companies as well as facilitating the creation of semiconductor supporting industries and water fabrication park infrastructure in Singapore. In the private sector, he has served as Vice President for Corporate Strategic Development in a local listed manufacturing company and has also prior working experience in manufacturing, research and development in a Baxter and Fujikura (Japan) in electronic healthcare products and optical fibers, respectively.

Dr Ng Chee Mang – Executive Committee Member
Dr Ng Chee Mang is the Programme Director of Centre of Excellence for Silicon Technologies (Si-COE), a university-level research centre in Nanyang Technologies University (NTU) that aims at creating leading-edge know-how to lead future research areas and applications in silicon-related technology.

Chee Mang had been with Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, which later became GLOBALFOUNDRIES Singapore,for more than 16 years until 2013, working from engineering operation and support, research programme management to quality assurance operation. He had strong research connection and collaboration networks where he collaborated with more than 50 professors from NTU and National University of Singapore (NUS) promoting cross-functional collaboration activities between various technical groups in GLOBALFOUNDRIES and academic experts. Just before joining NTU, he worked in NUS Enterprise as Senior Alliance Manager and initiated the Singapore Spintronics Consortium (SG-SPIN).

Chee Mang is active in technology development and innovation, had authored and co-authored more than 40 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings and has filed 6 US patents.

Sandeep Chatterjee – Executive Committee Member
Sandeep has multi-dimensional background in Human Resources, Consulting & Information Technology domain across Singapore, India and the United States of America. He has unique experiences of working in multi-nationals, government organization, & start-ups. He has previously worked with IBM, Apar Infotech, KIOCL, Readiminds. He is currently the Managing Director of Flexione Pte Ltd, a Singapore based on-site technical services firm supporting Information Technology and Electronics Firms.

Sandeep has a Masters Degree in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare from Utkal University with a First Class rank (Gold Medalist). He has also pursued HR and Management courses in the continuing studies arm of Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley. He has co-authored CCH Publications “HR Strategies in Asia “. During his spare time he pursues his other interest, “music” and has been featured in the Singapore Arts Festival as a singer.

Saw Biing Huei – Executive Committee Member
Biing Huei has more than 15 years of working experience in the semiconductor industry and was formerly the Deputy Director of Corporate Sales for STATS ChipPAC, a leading outsourced semiconductor assembly & test (OSAT) company, headquartered in Singapore.

Before joining STATS ChipPAC, Biing Huei was Regional Sales Manager at AFL Telecommunications LLC, managing the company’s distributor and reseller networks in Asia Pacific to provide a complete line of fibre optic test equipment for various industries.

Prior to moving to AFL, he was Director of Sales and Development with SEMI Singapore. At Semi Singapore, Biing Huei was responsible for membership development, sales and customer relationships for SEMI in Southeast Asia. SEMI is the global industry association serving companies that provide equipment, materials and services used to manufacture semiconductors, photovoltaic, displays, nano-scaled structures, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and related technologies.

Prior to joining SEMI, he has also worked in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) sales with Teradyne (Asia) Pte Ltd, was a Sales Manager with HGV Machine Vision Pte Ltd and at Matsushita Technology (S) Pte Ltd (MASTEC). Biing Huei received his Bachelors of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and his Masters of Business Administration degree from California State University East Bay.

Dr See Kwang Seng – Chief Editor of SSIA Voice
Kwang Seng is the Programme Director for Silicon Technologies, Centre of Excellence (Si-COE) in Nanyang Technology University (NTU). He is responsible for attracting international and local universities and organizations for the establishment of joint research and business ventures. He is also in charge of exploring and facilitating commercialization of emerging technologies and the spin-off of start-up companies. He also provides liaison between Si-COE and external groups including companies, professional associations, government agencies, academia and funding agencies.

Before joining NTU, he was with Global Silicon Partners (GSP) of Globalfoundries Singapore (GFS) for 8 years as a Process Integration Senior Section Manager. He was in charge of 0.13 μm Low Power (RF), Ultra-Low Power, Low-Voltage-High-Performance, High Voltage, EEPROM technologies and has worked with major customers from the US, EU and AP regions. He was also the Lead Manager in charge of Total Process Control and Electrical Testing Automation inthe department. He graduated from GFS’ Organizational Development Leadership Program (ODLP) in 2011, which was designed for higer-performing managers.

Kwang Seng holds a PhD in Microelectronics from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in NTU.

Dr Holly Ott – Program Chair, SSIA Supply Chain Forum
Holly holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in semiconductor material characterization and device modeling and has worked for twelve years in semiconductor production in the USA, Europe and Asia for JVs with Siemens, Motorola, IBM and Infineon. Most recently she played a key role in the transfer of Infineon’s wireless operations from Germany to Singapore and headed the Television Tuner planning division from Singapore. Her work has been in the areas of device simulation and matching, volume electrical and reliability testing, and operations and supply chain management. Currently, Holly is a senior lecturer of Operations and Supply Chain Management in the School of Management at the Technical University of Munich and is an adjunct professor at Singapore Management University and an associate faculty at SIM University. She is active with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association to support training and development needs for semiconductor companies in Singapore.
