Resilience In The Semiconductor Industry

Even as most industries reel from the short- and long-term impacts of Covid-19, the semiconductor industry has stood apart in its resilience, buoyed by strengthening demand from the growth of cloud computing, data centres and 5G networks.

In the second half of this year, the industry has not only held its performance but is in the early stages of an upswing, with a 26 per cent jump in output in June.

It is, as Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Trade and Industry Koh Poh Koon put it in June this year, “one of the few bright spots in the economy right now”.

For over five decades, Singapore has held its own as a semiconductor hub, drawing key global players and moving up the value chain, sharpening its focus on advancing manufacturing capabilities, and research and development (R&D).

The industry is hiring aggressively to fuel future growth plans, and opportunities abound in this digital age. Join us to be a part of these exciting developments.

Singapore’s Semiconductor Story

Over the last 52 years, Singapore’s semiconductor industry has redefined itself, moved up the value chain, and is leading the charge on powering some of the defining technologies of our future. The industry have remained resilient over time by evolving through the ages.
