SSIA Board Members

Brian Tan is regional president of Southeast Asia at Applied Materials, Inc. In this role, he oversees the company’s operations and strategy in the region while helping to build strategic partnerships across the private and public sectors.

Concurrently, Brian is also corporate vice president and heads the Applied Global Services business in Asia where his strong product focus and customer relationships have built world class field service capabilities-infrastructure and enabled customer ramp-operations success.

Brian was previously chief strategy officer for worldwide operations, as well as head of operations & policy deployment for global continuous improvement. He was also deputy regional president for Southeast Asia and has progressed through multiple technical, operational and sales leadership roles.

Brian serves on the Future of Microelectronics Advisory Board since 2021 under Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025. Brian also serves on the Advisory Board of National University of Singapore College of Design and Engineering (NUS CDE). Brian received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Regional President, South East Asia Corporate Vice President, Applied Materials, Inc.
Tan Yew Kong is Senior Vice President and General Manager of GlobalFoundries (GF) Singapore site. In this role, he oversees all operations across GF Singapore’s site, leading a workforce of almost 5,000 employees and aligning the organization’s efforts in support of GF’s business objectives.

Prior to this, Mr. Tan was General Manager of GF’s Fab 7 (300mm manufacturing operation) and GF GIGA+ Fab (200mm manufacturing operation) in Singapore, where he managed operations to achieve greater levels of performance measured by quality, yield, cost, delivery and customer satisfaction metrics.

A 29-year veteran of the semiconductor industry, he holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

CS Chua is the President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, the regional headquarters of Infineon Technologies – a global leader in power systems and IoT solutions. Infineon drives decarbonization and digitalization with its products and solutions.

Based in Singapore, Mr. Chua oversees regional sales, marketing and distribution, supply chain, R&D, and manufacturing. He is also responsible for strategy, quality management, human resources, and communications for the Asia Pacific region with local presence in Australia, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. He has held the current role since 2017.

Mr. Chua joined Infineon in 2000 and has taken on roles in product marketing for industrial microcontrollers and regional marketing covering Asia Pacific’s automotive electronics segment. Previously as the Vice President of Automotive Regional Centre with responsibilities for sales, marketing, OEM business development, concept engineering, and application engineering, He built a competent segment marketing and system application engineering team to serve the growing needs of Infineon’s automotive customers in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Chua has a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Jennifer is a seasoned senior management executive with more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Her expertise spans multiple business functions, including process integration, customer engineering, quality assurance, eBusiness, alongside a robust engineering and project management background.

Currently, Jennifer serves as the Manufacturing Vice President at Silicon Labs International, overseeing the entire supply chain management and leading the Singapore site operations. Before her tenure at Silicon Labs International, she held various roles at K&S and Chartered Semiconductor.

Jennifer earned a First-Class Honors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Amy Leong is the CEO of AEM Holdings, a global leader in semiconductor test and handling solutions. She brings over 26 years of semiconductor experience in P&L management, product development, global sales and marketing, mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining AEM, she held various senior leadership positions in California US with FormFactor [NASDAQ: FORM] for 18 years, including Chief Commercial Officer, General Manager, and Chief Marketing Officer. Her earlier career started as a process and application engineer for frond-end wafer fabrication at IBM and KLA. She also spent two years with Gartner as a market analyst where she gained her broad knowledge of the semiconductor ecosystem.

Amy has been serving as an advisory board member of International Semiconductor Executive Summits since 2016. She was a board director of Skywater Technology [NASDAQ: SKYT] from 2022 to 2024, and a director of Simple Steps Community Connection, a nonprofit organization supporting women’s leadership initiatives, from 2020 to 2023.

Amy received a Master of Science Degree in materials science and engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

LJ Chiou has more than 35 years of semiconductor experience. He is currently the Managing Director of STATS ChipPAC Singapore, (a subsidiary of JCET Group) for the past 5 years. Prior to that, he has spent his past 17 years working for ASE as General Manager for Singapore and various VP positions in ASE Penang and ASE Shanghai.

Before joining the OSAT industry, LJ Chiou spent several years in Chartered Semiconductor (now known as Global Foundries) in Operations and Corporate Planning. He started his career as a Process Engineer with Texas Instruments.

LJ Chiou graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and obtained his MBA at the State University of New York, Buffalo.

Jong Aik is the Vice President for Soitec in the role of Global Procurement and Supply Chain, he manages a global team worldwide addressing the purchasing needs of all the sites in the world. Apart from that, he also holds the role of Managing Director for Soitec manufacturing plant in Singapore which is currently running 300mm SOI serving the world with Soitec being the leader in Engineered Substrates.

Jong Aik has held various management roles in TECH Semiconductor (Micron) and ASML. During his employment with Soitec, he spent 2 years in China, Shanghai, working closely with a partner in developing their skills in SOI manufacturing in 200mm production.

Gary Eves is the Senior Vice President of Global Engineering Operations and Singapore Country Manager of NXP Semiconductors. In that role, he is responsible for all external wafer foundry and OSAT business supporting NXP in the automotive, industrial and commercial business segments. Additionally, he is responsible for Test Innovation at NXP along with enterprise data software tools.

Prior to this position, Gary held Operations Engineering roles within NXP in the Connectivity and Security business. Prior to joining NXP in 2016, Gary held engineering roles at Broadcom, Multilink Technology, Conexant System, Rockwell Semiconductor and Northern Telecom. Gary holds an MBA from Pepperdine University (USA) as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa (Canada).

Geok Hong is the Vice President and CEO Chief of Staff in Micron, which she focuses company-wide strategic and transformational initiatives, collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to provide thought leadership, understand industry trends and navigate opportunities, and serve as an integrator to connect workstreams, enhance operational efficiency, drive synergy, and promote excellence across the organization.

Prior this role, she was the Vice President of Frontend Strategic Program Office and the Central Process Integration Engineering team (cPIE) at Micron Global Front End Operation, responsible for yield, quality, output and strategic objective for manufacturing excellency.

Prior to her current role, she served as the Fab Director at Micron Taiwan (Fab11) during the Inotera acquisition in 2017.

Terence Gan is the Executive Director of Institute of Microelectronics, Agency for Science, Technology and Research.

He is also currently Advisor, Semiconductors at Economic Development Board, Singapore (EDB); a member of the Industrial Advisory Committee at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, a member of the Advisory Committee at the School of Engineering, Republic Polytechnic, a Board Member of the Regional Advisory Board at SEMI Southeast Asia, and a Board Member at the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association.

Previously, he was the Senior Vice President and Head of Semiconductors at EDB and worked closely with top local and global semiconductor companies to develop and execute their regional and global strategies through Singapore. Prior to this position, he was the Regional President for Europe from 2015-2020, Director for Electronics from 2013-2015, and Centre Director of EDB’s San Francisco Centre from 2007-2010.

Terence joined the EDB in 2000. He received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000.
