The semiconductor industry is currently in the spotlight due to a global surge in demand for chips, driven by the increasing need for consumer electronics, the acceleration of digitalization trends, and the introduction of new technologies like 5G. As a major global semiconductor hub, Singapore is well-positioned to continue its growth, contributing nearly 12% to the global semiconductor market. Significant investments have been pouring into Singapore, with expectations for continued growth, particularly in the IC Design sector.

To address the growing demand for IC designers both locally and globally, the SSIA Board, in collaboration with industry leaders and the EDB, established the IC Design Summer Camp, aimed at offering students the unique opportunity to connect with industry experts, gaining first-hand insights into the dedication, intensity, and passion driving the semiconductor industry. This program is tailored for Year 2 and Year 3 undergraduates (AY2024/2025) majoring in Electrical, Electronics, Computing, or Design Engineering.
