Redefining Leadership for the Semiconductor Industry
Following a comprehensive review with industry and HR leaders, SSIA proudly unveils the newly refreshed Singapore Semiconductor Leadership Excellence (SSLE) Programme, in partnership with Singapore Management University (SMU). This is more than a name change. SSLE represents a transformation — from an accelerator to a holistic, industry-relevant leadership journey.
PROGRAMME NARRATIVE
The Singapore Semiconductor Leadership Excellence (SSLE) is a customised programme designed to inspire emerging technical and business leaders to continue creating revolutionary possibilities from the semiconductor industry. It offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience aimed at fostering both personal and professional growth, equipping leaders to thrive in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous global landscape, with a particular focus on the semiconductor sector.
Trustee and Adviser of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC)

Mr Lim Swee Say is trustee and Adviser of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), Chairman of the NTUC-Administration & Research Unit Board of Trustees, and board member of NTUC Enterprise Co-operative Ltd. He is also Chairman of NTUC LearningHub and NCS Pte Ltd, board member of Temasek Foundation, and serves as Independent Director on listed companies.
Mr Lim joined the public sector in 1976. He held leadership positions in Singapore’s National Computer Board and the Economic Development Board. He joined the Labour Movement in 1996 and entered politics in 1997 to serve in various capacities including Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology, Minister for Environment, Second Minister for National Development and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. He also served as the Secretary General of NTUC from 2007 to 2015 and was appointed Minister for Manpower in 2015. He stepped down from the Cabinet in 2018 and retired from politics as a Member of Parliament in 2020.

The SSLE programme aims to develop senior semiconductor leaders by enhancing their strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, and industry foresight. It prepares them to navigate complex challenges and drive transformative growth within their organisations and the broader semiconductor ecosystem.
The Spiralling Cone: The three-dimensional spiralling cone guides participants to think about how context, drivers for growth and leaders interact with one another. The multi-directional and perceived magnitude of the interactions capture the complexities in motion that participants must consider before initiating the appropriate action at any given time.
