“I named it Blessed because it is both a reminder and a gift – to remain resilient, whatever life may bring. Like the magnolia, true beauty lies in quiet strength and even against the hardest odds, we will rise, we will flourish, and we will give back.”
Stanley
Blessed by Stanley Lim:
For Stanley, art is not just expression – it is a reminder of resilience and renewal. Once an aerospace engineer, a field demanding precision, patience, and problem-solving, his course of life change after a bike accident. Through sheer determination, he went on to represent Singapore in para-swimming at the Asian Para Games, and discovered painting as a way to channel his inner strength and creativity.
Embracing painting by mouth, every stroke became a declaration: that artistry is not limited by physical barriers, but fuelled by resilience.
For SSIA’s Canvas of Care, Stanley presents Blessed, a painting of magnolias – flowers he chose deliberately for their symbolism. The creation of Blessed stretched over a month, as Stanley fine-tuned every detail through artistry and persistence.
For within those petals of Magnolia lie strength, perseverance, and the quiet beauty of survival.

“Side by side, this art piece reveals a truth close to Eera’s heart: true strength is never solitary — it blossoms when we stand with one another, when we partner, and when we grow as a community. “If my art finds a home with you, I hope it brings joy and strength. May it inspire you to chase after your dreams, just as I continue to chase mine.”
Eera
Mokara Orchid Diptych by Eera Nasriah:
Eera Nasriah has shaped an artistic identity that speaks of resilience, identity, and hope. Her journey began in school, when she first joined an art club. Over the years with Artzillions, she has developed her style and exhibited at the Arts House and Asian Civilisations Museum, and even painted live at Marina Bay Front.
As part of SSIA’s Canvas of Care, Eera presents her work titled Mokara Orchid Diptych — her fourth orchid artwork, and the first she chose to express through a pair of canvases.
The first of the pair was deeply personal, symbolising resilience and growth. But to her, the story was not whole. She painted a second orchid, completing the diptych to honour the pillar of strength from her mother, whose love of orchids had long inspired her.
Together, the two orchids embody more than beauty; they carry a message. One bloom speaks of resilience within, the other of bonds that sustain us.

“To the person who brings Speedlines home, may you feel the pulse of persistence within it. Every line was born of effort and instinct. I hope it inspires you to keep moving forward, even in chaos. Momentum always leads to discovery.”
Zayne
Speedlines by Zayne Pua:
For Zayne Pua, art is where impulse meets persistence. A self-taught artist, he has turned painting into a passionate obsession — a world where questions about life can be poured onto canvas, where curiosity transforms into creation, and where every layer carries both tenacity and discovery.
For SSIA’s Canvas of Care, Zayne presents Speedlines — an abstract alive with motion, rhythm, and resilience. Painted over the course of a month, Zayne returned to the canvas day after day, adding two to three layers at a time. The result was not a single image, but momentum itself: a work that vibrates with energy and refuses to stand still.
The lines manifest the blur of cars racing past at midnight, the streaks of anime fight scenes, and sublimely, the invisible frequencies of technology signals. They capture the speed of our world today — fast, furious, and relentless. Yet in that speed lies something deeper. Each layer of Speedlines is persistence made visible, proof that creation is not a sudden spark but a rhythm built stroke by stroke.
In Zayne’s words, the process itself became the message: just keep going, and something meaningful will take shape.

To the person, who will bring this art piece back, Alex expresses his gratitude simply: “Thank you.” Blocks and Blossoms speaks volumes — an invitation to pause, to discover beauty we often overlook, and stretch our imagination of what’s possible, what’s extraordinary within the ordinary.
Alex
Tranquil Metropolis by Samuel Wong:
For Alex Lim, known as The Unskilled Boy, painting is his way of turning everyday sights into extraordinary reflections of how he sees the world. He blends classical techniques with playful creativity, infusing humour, colour, and heart into his work, drawing inspiration from nature, daily rituals, and the imagination that fuels him.
For SSIA’s Canvas of Care, Alex presents Blocks and Blossoms, to mark SG60. From his balcony, Alex looks out each day, spotting birds in flight, catching sight of the vibrant daily lives and even, full moon.
This daily ritual spur him to first drew the blocks opposite his home. Each day, Alex would add, remove, and refine. An egret makes its way into the painting, a bird he often notices on his way to school. A lush garden blooms in the scene, a reminder that Singapore is a garden city. Wanting to give the number “60” prominence, Alex decorated it with beads, then added glitter to bring a sparkle to the canvas.
Just like his art piece, the ordinary balcony view became a vibrant, layered story of growth, imagination, and identity — turning an ordinary, daily view into an extraordinary reflection of the world through his eyes.

Samuel hopes the person who brings Tranquil Metropolis home will feel both its energy and its serenity. “I painted this to show that even in a busy city, there is still beauty, peace, and nature. I hope it reminds you that resilience and growth come from finding calm, even in the middle of life’s rush.”
Samuel
Blocks and Blossoms by Alex Lim:
For Samuel Wong, art is more than colour on canvas, it is his sanctuary, and his way of exploring the world one stroke at a time. Since 2022, Samuel, who is autistic (level 3), has been painting under the guidance of his Artzillion teachers. With their unwavering encouragement, he has learned to mix colours, control strokes, and most importantly, discover the joy of expression.
For SSIA’s Canvas of Care, Samuel presents Tranquil Metropolis — a 90x60cm acrylic painting completed over two months.
Inspired by Singapore’s SG60, this work is Samuel’s first and only limited-edition cityscape. It marks a bold step beyond his earlier paintings of birds, flowers, and landscapes.
To Samuel, this art piece, through each deliberate stroke, tells the story of what Singapore represents: a home where growth rises in skyscrapers, yet remains in harmony with the serenity of lotus blooms.
This art piece reminds us: amidst the bustle of our city life, it is through appreciating what surrounds us — and finding our inner sanctuary — that true bliss and growth can take root.
