As global demand for semiconductors continues to accelerate, building regional linkages has become critical. Vietnam is taking steps to expand its role in semiconductor manufacturing and IC design, while Singapore remains focused on connecting strengths across the value chain to reinforce Asia’s competitiveness.
Building on its solid foundation in electronics manufacturing and as home to global players such as Samsung and Amkor, Vietnam is now laying the groundwork for a robust semiconductor ecosystem. Backed by specialised industrial parks such as VISP Bac Ninh and a strong focus on cultivating skilled technical talent, they are open for investments across the value chain.
By 2030, Vietnam is targeting over USD 25 billion annually in semiconductor industry revenue, more than USD 225 billion in electronics revenue, and training 50,000 engineers and graduates for the semiconductor workforce — a bold ambition underscoring its intent to shape the future of the industry.
